Services
The Roaring Fork Fire Rescue Authority provides emergency and non-emergency services throughout Basalt and Snowmass Village and the surrounding areas. This includes 24-hour emergency response to a wide variety of critical situations.

The department also operates active fire prevention and emergency preparedness programs, which provide for fire inspections, hazardous process permitting, burn permits, fire code enforcement, and community education. Each year, the Roaring Fork Fire Rescue Authority spends over 4,000 hours completing hands-on training activities, which build important practical skills and allow each firefighter and first responder to respond quickly and correctly to all types of emergency situations.
Medical Protocols
The Roaring Fork Valley has adopted valley-wide medical protocols. These protocols are a series of treatment modalities for specific illnesses and injuries. They ensure consistent care throughout the service area. The protocols are reviewed annually and submitted to the Medical Director.
